Cook <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Finalize the questionnaire for posting at the Board's website and distribution during <br />scheduled open houses. <br />BREIFING SUMMARY: <br />Public Works is preparing its public outreach effort to select the initial citizen <br />advisory board (CAB) to the Flood Control Zone District <br />• Once the questionnaire is approved for use, Public Works will finalize venue and <br />schedule planning for several open houses during the month of August 2017 <br />Post the application on the Board's webpage and issue press release <br />* Conduct open houses <br />• Support formulation of the CAB with enabling legislation <br />BACKGROUND: <br />During the past several months, staff has been working towards establishing a citizen <br />advisory board supporting the Flood Control Zone District. The Board of County <br />Commissioners (BoCC) has expressed support formulating the proposed Board during <br />several previous study sessions with Public Works. Staff has completed a draft <br />questionnaire for Board consideration. <br />DISCUSSION: <br />The questionnaire is the first step of implementing the public outreach campaign <br />targeting rate payers for advisory board participation.
