7/31/2017 MINUTES 2 <br />Chairman Jewell stated that he recently met with Alan Aronica, <br />Yakama Nation to check in prior to the County Fair. He stated that <br />they no longer want ride bracelets and want an increase per <br />performance for their performances at the Fair. Chairman Jewell <br />stated that Mr. Aronica requested the Board consider increasing <br />their contract from $500.00 per performance to $750.00. Chairman <br />Jewell stated that he was supportive of the request. He stated that <br />they were turned down last time they asked for an increase and it’s <br />time to increase the compensation with actual funds instead of ride <br />bracelets. Commissioner O’Brien agreed with the request. – Request <br />Approved. <br /> <br />WAIVER PLAUCHE & CARR/NATURE CONSERVANCY COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />Commissioner O’Brien moved to authorize Chair Signature on a <br />“consent to & waiver of potential conflict” due to Plauche & Carr <br />LLP representing Kittitas County, as well as the Nature Conservancy. <br />Chairman Jewell seconded. Motion carried 2-0. <br /> <br />UPDATE BOCC/ DEPARTMENT HEAD REPORTS COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />Each Commissioner was assigned three different Department Heads to <br />meet with on a weekly basis. This was determined at a Special <br />Meeting with the Board of County Commissioners held on June 18, <br />2009. Each Commissioner reviewed discussions held with their <br />respective departments and exchanged details of those meetings. On <br />January 3, 2011 the Board determined it would be beneficial to <br />alternate Commissioners that will oversee the different Department <br />Head’s on an annual basis.
