KITTITAS COUNTY <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br />AGENDA DATE: June 26, 2017 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Sign the Letter Requesting Assistance from WSDOT <br />Managing Weekend Traffic Diverting to Nelson West <br />Siding Road <br />BACKGROUND: <br />At the previous Public Works study session (06-122017), <br />staff advised the Board of complaints from residents along <br />Nelson West Siding Road in Upper Kittitas County. The <br />Board will recall complaints of public urination and <br />defecation (resulting from traffic backups along I-90) being <br />made by area residents. The Board instructed staff prepare <br />a letter to South Central WSDOT requesting assistance. <br />That letter has been prepared for Board signature and is <br />attached as Exhibit 1. <br />INTERACTION: <br />Public Works <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Sign the letter to WSDOT requesting assistance preventing <br />unsanitary conditions along Nelson West Siding Road. <br />HANDLING: <br />Return one original to Public Works <br />ATTACHMENTS: <br />Exhibit 1: Letter to WSDOT requesting assistance <br />preventing unsanitary conditions along Nelson West Siding <br />Road <br />LEAD STAFF: <br />Mark R.
