COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES <br />KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON <br />BOCC CONFERENCE ROOM <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />Tuesday 2:00 PM June 13, 2017 <br />Board members present: Paul Jewell, Laura Osiadacz, Obie O'Brien <br />Others: Patti Johnson, Lisa Lawrence, Lisa Young, Jill Scheffer <br />REGULAR MEETING COMMISSIONERS <br />Meeting called to order at 2:00pm <br />Transfer Station Relocation Project: Patti informed the Board <br />that an open house was held June 6th and that approximately 27 <br />people attended not including staff. Some comments included the <br />concern of raised property taxes not realizing Solid Waste is <br />not taxed based. Overall there were not many negative comments <br />and it went well. Patti let the Board know that she will be <br />meeting with the consultants soon to discuss the comments <br />received. <br />Solid Waste Grant Funding: Patti informed the Board that Grant <br />funding expires on June 30th and that it is unknown if or when <br />funding will be available. <br />Discussion was held on grant funded positions and programs. The <br />Board directed staff to end grant funded programs on June 30tH <br />The Board further directed Lisa Y to compose a press release and <br />email staff alerting them that grant programs will be ending and <br />layoffs will be considered if funding doesn't become available. <br />Maintenance Update and Staffing: Patti informed the Board that <br />the Assistant Maintenance Director position had been filled. She <br />reported that Tim Egan comes with high qualifications including <br />HVAC and an Electrical background and officially starts his <br />full-time position with the County on Tuesday. <br />Shady Brook Proposal Update: Patti presented the Board with <br />Fulcrom's Professional Services Proposal stating that the cost <br />per unit would be $1450. Discussion was held on time and <br />materials not to exceed, the different ages and kinds of units <br />and that Patti is working on the abandoned vehicle process for <br />the travel trailers.
