2017-06-23 MINUTES 1 <br />COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES <br />KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON <br />COMMISSIONER’S AUDITORIUM <br />SPECIAL MEETING <br /> <br />FRIDAY 1:00 P.M. JUNE 23, 2017 <br /> <br />Board members present: Chairman Paul Jewell & Commissioner Laura <br />Osiadacz. Excused – Commissioner Obie O’Brien <br /> <br />Others: Mandy Buchholz, Deputy Clerk of the Board II; Joann Schaan, <br />Developmental Disabilities Coordinator; Kasey Knutson, Health <br />Promotion Supervisor; Robin Read, Public Health Administrator; <br />County DDAC Board Members: Ann Pflug & Shannon Garoutte. <br /> <br />SPECIAL MEETING DD UPDATE COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />At 1:00 p.m. Chairman Jewell opened a Special Meeting with County <br />Staff and members of the DDAC, noting that documents were presented <br />in advance for the Board to review. <br /> <br />There was discussion over the applications received in response to <br />the RFP the DDAC recently put out for providers of DD services, from <br />Kittitas Valley Opportunities (KVO) – Parent to Parent/KVO – Parent <br />Coalition and Bright Beginnings for Kittitas County. <br /> <br />Commissioner Osiadacz moved to accept the 3 proposals received from <br />Kittitas Valley Opportunities (KVO) – Parent to Parent/KVO – Parent <br />Coalition and Bright Beginnings for Kittitas County, as recommended <br />by the DDAC. Chairman Jewell seconded. Chairman Jewell directed <br />staff to prepare enabling documents for a future Agenda Session. <br />Motion carried 2-0. <br /> <br />Robin Read, Public Health Administrator stated that by State <br />Contract they are required to have a Biennial Plan. She expressed <br />how pleased she was with the work that was done by the 3 committee <br />members who took on the work to develop the plan and felt the end <br />product was excellent. She questioned if the Board had any questions <br />that they needed addressed. Chairman Jewell reviewed questions <br />relating to ITA Services and highlighted areas of the Plan he was <br />pleased with. Chairman Jewell and Commissioner Osiadacz both noted <br />that they were pleased with the additional information in the Plan <br />that they don’t always get from other Plans presented. <br /> <br />Commissioner Osiadacz moved to approve of the Kittitas County <br />developmental Disabilities 2017 – 2019 Community Plan. Chairman <br />Jewell seconded. Staff was directed to bring the plan forward for <br />signature as soon as it’s no longer in DRAFT form. Chairman Jewell <br />thanked the DDAC for all their work on preparing the Biennial Plan.
