5/30/2017 MINUTES 2 <br />Director Cook was directed to follow up on whether or not a speed <br />sign could be placed by Public Works or if the Sheriff’s Office <br />would need to do it. <br /> <br />LETTER WSDOT - TODD TREPANIER COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />Commissioner O’Brien moved to authorize Board signature on letter to <br />Todd Trepanier, Regional Administrator with WSDOT regarding Stranded <br />Motorists during Winter Closures at Exit 70 on I-90 Westbound. <br />Commissioner Osiadacz seconded. Motion carried 3-0. <br /> <br />AGREEMENT WSDA – HEALTH & SAFETY COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />Commissioner O’Brien moved to authorize and accept/spend the State <br />of Washington Department of Agriculture Fairs Program Agreement in <br />the amount of $25,000.00, noting that it must be spent by June 30, <br />2017 and that the funds would be primarily spent on sinks and <br />drinking fountains. Commissioner Osiadacz seconded. The Board <br />congratulated Ms. Scheffer on the Grant award. Ms. Scheffer stated <br />the she plans to speak with the Friends of the Fair about <br />contributing funds to the project. Motion carried 3-0. <br /> <br />DECISION VAPING @ KVEC COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />The Board determined that they would treat vaping the same as <br />smoking and ban it from the Event Center/Fairgrounds during the <br />County Fair during Labor Day Weekend every year. Commissioner <br />Osiadacz was directed to make the announcement at the Fair Board <br />meeting on Thursday June 1, 2017 and to update the Public Health <br />Department on their decision. Commissioner o’Brien seconded. Motion <br />carried 3-0. <br /> <br />SET PUBLIC HEARINGS WATER-SCHNEBLY-TPL COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />Commissioner Osiadacz moved to approve setting two Public Hearings <br />to be set June 13, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. to consider the purchase of <br />Water Rights from Craig and Nancy Schnebly and a Memorandum of <br />Agreement & to consider the purchase of Water Rights from The Trust <br />for Public Land and a Memorandum of Agreement between the Washington <br />Department of Fish and Wildlife, Kittitas County and The Trust for <br />Public Land. To be held on Tuesday June 13, 2017 in the <br />Commissioners Auditorium, Room 109, Kittitas County Courthouse 205 <br />West 5th Avenue Ellensburg, WA and to authorize the Clerk to publish <br />said notice. <br /> <br />UPDATE BOCC/ DEPARTMENT HEAD REPORTS COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />Each Commissioner was assigned three different Department Heads to <br />meet with on a weekly basis. This was determined at a Special <br />Meeting with the Board of County Commissioners held on June 18,
