Board of Health Minutes April 28, 2017 2 of 3 • Level 1- low risk TFE is $185.00 to include one inspection and a permit for all farmers' market events in Kittitas County for a 12 month period. Level 1 -low risk includes serving commercially prepared food with single -use articles, coffee stands, and other commercially pre-packaged food items with limited handling and preparation. Type A • Event that is either a single day, or between 2-21 consecutive days. The fee for additional days is $40 and goes into effect after the first day for low and moderate risk levels, and after 5 days of operation for high risk. Paul Jewell noted that at the January public hearing for approval of the 2017 Public Health Department Fee Schedule, representatives from the Farmer's Market Board and vendors were in attendance and raised concerns about the fees being charged by the health department. The vendors, who serve a variety of different foods in different risk levels, were all paying the same fee. After discussion the board asked the health department to work with the Farmer's Market Board and vendors to come up with a new proposal for fees. That is what the board is looking at today. Amy Fuller stepped to the microphone and clarified the permit types are specific to state code. Laura Osciadacz clarified the temporary food service A is for 1 event and B is for multiple events. Ms.Osiadacz also asked if this information was shared with the Upper County Farmer's Market vendors. Ms. Fuller clarified that this was not as the department was asked to work with those that attended the public hearing with concerns about the fees. No one from the Upper County Famer's Market was present. Paul Jewell agreed that next time the county should include those in Upper County. Paul Jewell thanked staff and members of the Farmer's Market Board/vendors for their work. Commissioner Jewell noted that he has received comments from market vendors stating they were happy to work with public health.
