4/17/2017 MINUTES 2 <br />planting of grizzly bears in our region as a follow up to the <br />presentation the Board received last month. <br /> <br />Chairman Jewell indicated that he is working on a letter and was <br />hoping to get it before the Public Lands Advisory Committee as well. <br />He stated that as soon as it’s complete he will put it before the <br />Board for their consideration. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION FISH LAKE ROAD COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />Commissioner Osiadacz explained that the County owns a part of Fish <br />Lake Road and was looking into whether or not the County would <br />assume any reasonability into maintaining the road. She explained <br />that the Agreement she provided stated that both the Forest Service <br />and the County have involvement in the road and that the road is not <br />on the County Road System, but is designated as a County Road. <br /> <br />The Board directed Commissioner Osiadacz to work with Public Works <br />to educate them (Director Cook and Engineer Huck) since they are <br />both new as well as herself into get the details of ownership and <br />maintenance responsibilities, as well as to see if the Forest <br />Service would be willing to help with the expense to chip seal to <br />help delay the road for deteriorating. She was also encouraged to <br />have DPW drive the road and see what the cost would be for primitive <br />road maintenance. Chairman Jewell encouraged Commissioner Osiadacz <br />to reach out to former Commissioner Crankovich as well about the <br />road and ownership details. <br /> <br />UPDATE BOCC/ DEPARTMENT HEAD REPORTS COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />Each Commissioner was assigned three different Department Heads to <br />meet with on a weekly basis. This was determined at a Special <br />Meeting with the Board of County Commissioners held on June 18, <br />2009. Each Commissioner reviewed discussions held with their <br />respective departments and exchanged details of those meetings. On <br />January 3, 2011 the Board determined it would be beneficial to <br />alternate Commissioners that will oversee the different Department <br />Head’s on an annual basis. They determined at the end of 2013 they <br />would review the various committees they participate in and provide <br />beneficial updates to the Board as needed during this time as well. <br /> <br />OTHER BUSINESS – <br /> <br />LETTER ESSB 5808 – CONCERNING AGRITOURISM COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />Commissioner O’Brien moved to authorize Board signature on a letter <br />to Governor Jay Inslee regarding ESSB 5808 (Warnick/Chase) – <br />Concerning Agritourism. Commissioner Osiadacz seconded. Chairman <br />Jewell asked Staff to place the letter on the Monday Morning Agenda <br />on 4/24/2017 to be ratified. He stated that due to the time
