4/17/2017 MINUTES 2 planting of grizzly bears in our region as a follow up to the presentation the Board received last month. Chairman Jewell indicated that he is working on a letter and was hoping to get it before the Public Lands Advisory Committee as well. He stated that as soon as it’s complete he will put it before the Board for their consideration. DISCUSSION FISH LAKE ROAD COMMISSIONERS Commissioner Osiadacz explained that the County owns a part of Fish Lake Road and was looking into whether or not the County would assume any reasonability into maintaining the road. She explained that the Agreement she provided stated that both the Forest Service and the County have involvement in the road and that the road is not on the County Road System, but is designated as a County Road. The Board directed Commissioner Osiadacz to work with Public Works to educate them (Director Cook and Engineer Huck) since they are both new as well as herself into get the details of ownership and maintenance responsibilities, as well as to see if the Forest Service would be willing to help with the expense to chip seal to help delay the road for deteriorating. She was also encouraged to have DPW drive the road and see what the cost would be for primitive road maintenance. Chairman Jewell encouraged Commissioner Osiadacz to reach out to former Commissioner Crankovich as well about the road and ownership details. UPDATE BOCC/ DEPARTMENT HEAD REPORTS COMMISSIONERS Each Commissioner was assigned three different Department Heads to meet with on a weekly basis. This was determined at a Special Meeting with the Board of County Commissioners held on June 18, 2009. Each Commissioner reviewed discussions held with their respective departments and exchanged details of those meetings. On January 3, 2011 the Board determined it would be beneficial to alternate Commissioners that will oversee the different Department Head’s on an annual basis. They determined at the end of 2013 they would review the various committees they participate in and provide beneficial updates to the Board as needed during this time as well. OTHER BUSINESS – LETTER ESSB 5808 – CONCERNING AGRITOURISM COMMISSIONERS Commissioner O’Brien moved to authorize Board signature on a letter to Governor Jay Inslee regarding ESSB 5808 (Warnick/Chase) – Concerning Agritourism.
