2017-02-06 MINUTES 2 <br />shall occur in a meeting open to the public, and when a governing <br />body elects to take final action hiring, setting the salary of an <br />individual employee or class of employees, or discharging or <br />disciplining an employee, that action shall be taken in a meeting <br />open to the public. No action was anticipated. <br /> <br />At 4:45 p.m. the Board reconvened out of Executive Session. No <br />action was taken. <br /> <br />At 4:45 p.m. Chairman Jewell announced the Board would recess back <br />into Executive Session for 5 minutes to evaluate the qualifications <br />of an applicant for public employment or to review the performance <br />of a public employee. However, subject to RCW 42.30.140 (4), <br />discussion by a governing body of salaries, wages, and other <br />conditions of employment to be generally applied within the agency <br />shall occur in a meeting open to the public, and when a governing <br />body elects to take final action hiring, setting the salary of an <br />individual employee or class of employees, or discharging or <br />disciplining an employee, that action shall be taken in a meeting <br />open to the public. No action was anticipated. <br /> <br />At 4:50 p.m. the Board reconvened out of Executive Session. <br />Chairman Jewell moved to place Diana MacKenzie, Upper Dist. Court <br />Administrator at the midpoint of her new wage scale, based on 32 <br />years of service and details in Judge Darrel Ellis written request; <br />Lisa Young, HR Director new wage scale remains the same but her new <br />salary would be $6,150.00 due to her length of service with the <br />County; Jim Goeben, IT Director new wage scale would remain the same <br />but salary placement would be $6,250.00, also due to his length of <br />service with the County. They directed Staff to prepare PAF’s <br />reflecting the Boards action. Commissioner O’Brien seconded. <br />Chairman Jewell stated he would notify Staff.
