MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING AND AGREEMENT <br />This Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and Agreement is entered into <br />between Kittitas County Sheriff's Office and Teamster Local No. 760 / Line <br />Deputies (the Parties). Exception to the practice outlined within Article 11 — <br />HOURS OF WORK — OVERTIME, 11.7 Work Shifts and Schedules, will be <br />modified by mutual agreement of both Parties as follows. <br />New: 11.7.1 - Shift Trades / Exchanges <br />Employees shall be permitted to voluntarily trade / exchange shifts within the squad. <br />Each employee shall work, at a minimum, one opposite shift per calendar year (e.g. <br />rotate to days or nights). Requests must be made in writing to the immediate <br />supervisor; signed by both employees requesting the trade / exchange. The Sheriff <br />or his designee will approve or deny all requests for exchanges. <br />The Union and Sheriff agree that, should problems arise regarding approval of shift <br />trades / exchanges, the parties shall meet to discuss the issue(s) for resolution. It is <br />further agreed the disputes regarding shift trades / exchanges are not subject to <br />Article 18 — Grievance Procedure. <br />The recipient of each shift assumes full ownership as if it is his / her own shift. Hours <br />involved in the trade / exchange will not be subject to overtime pay without approval <br />of the Sheriff or his designee. <br />1. The Parties shall endeavor to apprise each other of any concerns and/or <br />suggestions regarding the application of this MOU. <br />2.
