Attachment A
(Answers to questions)
Question 2 cont.: The roof replacement will allow continued operation of the Incubator
and lead to additional jobs within the county and region.
Question 11: Five businesses currently exist in the facility, this project will allow
continued use of the facility and provide opportunity for future start-up businesses as
the current tenants graduate from the facility/program. The Business Incubator facility
has five bays total, therefore the facility is currently at its business capacity. To date
over 25 businesses have occupied the facility through the years with several expanding
into their own locations and two were purchased by other companies.
Question 12: The give existing tenants generate a total of nine jobs. This information
was gathered through verbal conversation with the current tenants. One business has
four employees, one business has two employees and the other three businesses have
one employee each. Previous tenants like Wood Products NW and Iron Horse Brewery
had dozens of employees when they occupied the space. There is the potential for at
least two of the current businesses in the facility to increase the number of employees
within the next year. The total number of jobs created/retained will include many more
for the area than are currently located within the incubator facility as has been seen
through the expansion of businesses that have graduated from the facility.
