Cook <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />None required. <br />BACKGROUND: <br />In late 2015, Public Works awarded the Manastash Bridge replacement to <br />Belsaas and Smith construction. The bridge replaces a corroded culvert that <br />experienced significant failure during the 2011 flood. <br />DISCUSSION: <br />Foundation support piles are installed. Pile caps are cast (02-03-2016). Bridge <br />fabrication drawings are approved and WSDOT inspection services have been <br />notified. <br />The next major construction item is casting of the wingwalls then removal of the <br />existing culvert and placement of the bridge superstructure and deck <br />components.
