2016-10-25 MINUTES 1 <br />COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES <br />KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON <br />COMMISSIONER’S AUDITORIUM <br />SPECIAL MEETING <br /> <br />TUESDAY 9:00 A.M. OCTOBER 25, 2016 <br /> <br />Board members present: Chairman Obie O’Brien; Vice-Chairman Paul <br />Jewell & Commissioner Laura Osiadacz. <br /> <br />Others: Mandy Buchholz, Deputy Clerk of the Board; Robin Read, <br />Public Health Administrator; Joann Schaan, Developmental <br />Disabilities Coordinator; Bruce Tabb, Elmview; Carole Miller Rhodes, <br />Program Director at EnTrust; Daniel Ortega, Trellis; Sherie Bury, <br />Elmview; Lisa Young, HR Director; Von Ellison, Central Washington <br />Disability Resources; Kerry McMurray and Kim Davis with Bright <br />Beginnings of Kittitas County; John Ufkes, DD Board & members of the <br />public. <br /> <br />SPECIAL MEETING DD UPDATE COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />At 9:00 a.m. Chairman O’Brien opened a Special Meeting to receive an <br />update regarding Kittitas County DD Services. <br /> <br />Kim Davis, Executive Director at Bright Beginnings for Kittitas <br />County (BBFKC) provided the 2015 Annual Report for BBFKC which gave <br />an overview of the services and programs they provide. She <br />highlighted their success rates for children that have “graduated” <br />from needing the services they provide. <br /> <br />Daniel Ortega, Program Coordinator for Trellis Center provided a <br />brochure that explained what Trellis Center is and the services <br />provided as well as their mission. He stated that most the funding <br />for the program is done by fundraising and donations. <br /> <br />The Board asked questions regarding the services provided and <br />success stories. <br /> <br />John Ufkes, DD Board member wanted the BoCC to know that the new DD <br />Coordinator has done a great job recruiting new applicants. He also <br />requested the BoCC consider his reappointment to the Kittitas County <br />Developmental Disabilities Board. Commissioner Jewell thanked Mr. <br />Ufkes for his desire to remain on the DD Board, but asked that he <br />submit in writing his request for reappointment. <br /> <br />Joann Schaan, Developmental Disabilities Coordinator presented the <br />Kittitas County Development Disabilities Program Update. She <br />explained she would be happy to answer any questions the Board may <br />have, but due to time running out and additional topics to discuss <br />she would like to share that the County has hired a part-time
