COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES <br />KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON <br />BOCC CONFERENCE ROOM <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />TUESDAY 10:00 AM October 25, 2016 <br />Board members present: Obie O’Brien, Paul Jewell, Laura Osiadacz <br />Others: Lisa Young, member of the Kittitas County Friends of Animals. <br />REGULAR MEETING COMMISSIONERS <br />1) Call to order: 10:07 AM <br />2) Staffing Discussion/Requests <br /> Prosecutor – TABLED, Prosecutor not present. <br />3) Executive Session – Qualifications of a Candidate <br />RCW 42.30.110 (g) To evaluate the qualifications of an applicant for public employment or <br />to review the performance of a public employee. However, subject to RCW 42.30.140(4), <br />discussion by a governing body of salaries, wages, and other conditions of employment to <br />be generally applied within the agency shall occur in a meeting open to the public, and <br />when a governing body elects to take final action hiring, setting the salary of an individual <br />employee or class of employees, or discharging or disciplining an employee, that action <br />shall be taken in a meeting open to the public. <br />The Board entered executive session at 10:07 AM to discuss the qualifications of a <br />candidate for public employment. Anticipated length: 30 minutes; anticipated action: <br />Direction to staff. The Board exited executive session at 10:37 AM with direction to <br />proceed with interviews. <br />4) Other Business <br /> DD Project – Commissioner Jewell expressed his dissatisfaction with how long it took <br />to complete the first job carving for a position in the Treasurer’s Office. HR Director <br />Young explained the process and why it took longer than anticipated. <br /> A member of the Kittitas County Friends of Animals was present to express some <br />concerns regarding procedures and share information with the Board. The member <br />indicated he would also be speaking with Dr. Larson, Health Officer. Commissioner
