2016-10-18 MINUTES 1 <br />COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES <br />KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON <br />COMMISSIONERS CONFERENCE ROOM <br />SPECIAL MEETING <br /> <br />TUESDAY 9:00 A.M. OCTOBER 18, 2016 <br /> <br />Board members present: Chairman Obie O’Brien; Vice-Chairman Paul Jewell; <br />Commissioner Laura Osiadacz. <br /> <br />Others: Mandy Buchholz, Deputy Clerk of the Board; Patti Johnson, Solid <br />Waste Director/Maintenance Director/Project Manager. <br /> <br />SPECIAL MEETING BARN UPDATE @ KVEC S.W./MAINT <br /> <br />At 9:00 a.m. Chairman O’Brien opened a Special to receive an update <br />on the Event Center Barn Project. <br /> <br />Patti Johnson, Solid Waste Director/Maintenance Director/Project <br />Manager reviewed the options she received from ALSC. <br /> <br />The Board expressed their support for the Option #3 Bloom Pavilion <br />addition and improvements (including wash racks and miscellaneous <br />demolition). Ms. Johnson discussed the property survey for elevation <br />needing to be done. Commissioner Jewell requested a complete <br />breakdown that lists all details. He explained that he felt the <br />proposal seemed high. He stated that he has shared the proposals <br />with the Fair Board and the Livestock Committee and they were in <br />support of option #3 as well. <br /> <br />There was discussion on what fund the project would be paid for <br />from. Commissioner Jewell indicated that the sales tax revenues are <br />up this year and they could pay for it out of that fund. The Board <br />directed Ms. Johnson to work on negotiating the price down. Ms. <br />Johnson indicated that she needs to meet with Mickey and discuss <br />some sewer issues at one of the un-used restrooms at the Event <br />Center. <br /> <br />Ms. Johnson shared that she would like to set up a workgroup and <br />have them involved with the process. She felt having members of the <br />community who use the facility will be an asset to the process. <br />Commissioner Jewell indicated that he would work on a Press Release <br />letting citizens know the County is looking to form a workgroup and <br />it would provide an outline of the tasks that the workgroup would be <br />expected to work on. <br /> <br />Meeting was adjourned at 9:15 a.m. <br /> <br />KITTITAS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
