09/26/2016 MINUTES 1 COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON COMMISSIONERS CONFERENCE ROOM REGULAR MEETING MONDAY 9:00 A.M. SEPTEMBER 26, 2016 Board members present: Vice-Chairman Paul Jewell & Commissioner Laura Osiadacz. Absent: Chairman Obie O’Brien. Others: Mandy Buchholz, Deputy Clerk of the Board; Julie Kjorsvik, Clerk of the Board and one member of the public. SPECIAL MEETING OFFICE STAFF MEETING COMMISSIONERS At 9:00 a.m. Vice-Chairman Jewell opened the Office Administration meeting. CALENDAR WEEK AT A GLANCE COMMISSIONERS The Board of County Commissioners reviewed their weekly calendar. PAF/VOUCHERS REVIEW OF PAF’S & VOUCHERS COMMISSIONERS The Board of County Commissioners approved and signed County Employee Personnel Action forms and vouchers. CORRESPONDENCE LOG REVIEW OF CORRESPONDENCE LOG COMMISSIONERS The Board of County Commissioners reviewed the weekly Correspondence Log, a listing of all incoming mail and correspondence for the week ending September 23, 2016. DISCUSSION TRANSLATORS BOCC MEETINGS COMMISSIONERS Julie Kjorsvik, Clerk of the Board requested the Boards direction on how to proceed with the certified translators. She stated that for the past 3 Agenda sessions there has been no attendance or need for them and the same situation as the with the County’s Homelessness & Affordable Housing Committee. The Board directed Ms. Kjorsvik to work on developing a policy pertaining to guidelines/timelines for requesting translators, as well as cancel the current request for the translators for the BoCC and the County’s Homelessness & Affordable Housing Committee Meetings and directed her to send a press release out announcing that the County is cancelling the translators until they are requested again, noting that the County will be working to develop a policy to address the requests in the future.
