Dept. of Public Works <br />Page 2 <br />Luke gave an update on Lodge Creek — Via Kachess culvert <br />replacement. Working with Old Castle to get an estimate for <br />a culvert to replace the bridge, staff should see the estimate <br />in a few days and then go ahead with a Purchase Order <br />Agreement to them. Jacobs is moving along on the design. <br />Still on an August timeline to perform work and are on <br />schedule for an early September road closure. Leave as a <br />gravel surface and pave in the spring. An open house has <br />been scheduled on July 26th from 4pm to 6pm at the <br />Community Club House. Further discussion was held. <br />Luke stated that he has finished the review of the Palomino <br />Fields Plat. Mark and Luke met with Pat Deneen to go over <br />concerns before official comment was made. It was <br />discovered that some of the property does fall in a floodplain <br />and a permit will be required as well as a new storm water <br />plan. <br />Discussion was held regarding Blackhorse and the ongoing <br />issues with storm water and continued flooding. More needs <br />to be reviewed and submitted from D.R. Horton to resolve the <br />issues. Sidewalks have been poured along Reecer Creek <br />Road and they are performing what work they can. <br />Luke reported that the survey crew is staking the right of way <br />of Mt. Daniels Drive. He will make a site visit and discuss the <br />right of way and construction with the residents that live in the <br />area. It should be a two week project once design is <br />complete. Chipseal will be completed at a later date. <br />Discussion was held on alternate routes in Grasslands. <br />Mark reported that a conversation was had with FHWA <br />regarding the FLAP grant. The locations can be re -tasked <br />and staff was unaware of this. Mark added that when he <br />signed the match agreement for Teanaway culvert <br />improvements. We are using the left over funds from the 5 <br />million dollar project for the matching funds. Discussion was <br />held on design and next steps. <br />Mark stated that an alternate project be done with regards to <br />Ringer Loop. The Department of Military approved the <br />estimate for the alternate project and the strategy has paid <br />off. A letter of approval will follow.
