Dept. of Public Works
Page 2
Board Direction:
due to the unknowns of the remaining property owners and
that process will take months. The Badger Pocket RID
could be done quickly since there is only one property
owner unwilling to participate. Discussion was held.
Commissioner Jewell inquired how the election process
works. Mark responded that a Public Hearing can be held
in lieu of the election. Commissioner Jewell asked why the
petition method could not be used with the Badger Pocket
property owners with 60% in favor. Further discussion was
held. Mark committed to mapping out the timelines and
process and come back to the BOCC with the information.
Mark would like to send a request with DPA Cauikins to go
over the process of the formations. Discussion on public
benefit will also need to be addressed.
No Direction
Other Business: Mark stated that National Highway Institute is offering a
Sediment Transport Seminar. It's $1,000.00 with only 10
seats available. There is also a Bridge Scour class that
Mark would attend.
Mark R. Cook
Director of Public Works
411 N.
