<br />06/21/2016 MINUTES 5 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Guadalupe Huitron felt it was a bad decision to purchase the Shady Acres <br />Mobile Home Park. She said many people are living there and the County <br />has failed to go and speak to the residents. They were open for <br />conversation and hoped the County would make the process right from now <br />on and moving forward. She urged the Board to use their invitation to <br />communicate with the residents. <br /> <br />Rodrigo De La Rosa, resident of Shady Acres and President of the <br />Homeowners Association, said the residents have been waiting for <br />something to happen that would give them hope to not have to move out of <br />their neighborhood. He said they were open to communication and help <br />with planning in order to make the best decision for everyone. He said <br />it has been stressful for all of the families and they would like to get <br />relief for the situation. <br /> <br />Larry Lowther spoke of the County’s Housing section under their <br />Comprehensive Plan Goals, Objectives, and Policies relating to expansion <br />and preservation of stock of low income housing. He felt when the <br />Fairgrounds Master Plan was developed, they didn’t think of the effects <br />of the current housing when obtaining the real estate. He felt the <br />Master Plan was in direct conflict with the Comprehensive Plan and urged <br />the Board to not destroy the resident’s sense of community. <br /> <br />Kelly Conner stated that she nor did her neighbors received the survey <br />referenced by the County. She said the Shady Acres Mobile Home Park was <br />a nice community and what the Commissioners were doing was wrong. She <br />questioned why Commissioner Osiadacz wasn’t the Teanaway Forest Group <br />when Gary Berndt left instead of Commissioner Jewell. <br /> <br />Mark Auslander spoke of a prayer vigil that was held at the Shady Acres <br />Mobile Home Park. He urged the Commissioners to reconsider how they are <br />proceeding and apply the current Purchase & Sale Agreement to the <br />Housing Authority. He expressed concerns with CC Consulting and the <br />validity of the survey. <br /> <br />Kathleen Barlow addressed impacts to the children and how it will affect <br />their future political views due to what is happening at Shady Acres <br />Mobile Home Park. <br /> <br />Sheryl Cox said she enjoyed going to the Shady Acres Mobile Home Park <br />residents homes. She felt their community needed to stay together and <br />urged the Commissioners to not take away the families from their homes. <br /> <br />Ellen Schuttschneider said she had conversations with the children who <br />live in the mobile home park and they are worried about their parents. <br />She felt their traumatic experiences were being made by other’s <br />decisions and urged everyone to work together and hoped there would be a
