2/29/2016 MINUTES 1 COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON COMMISSIONERS CONFERENCE ROOM REGULAR MEETING MONDAY 9:50 A.M. FEBRUARY 29, 2016 Board members present: Chairman Obie O’Brien; Vice-Chairman Paul Jewell & Commissioner Gary Berndt. Others: Mandy Buchholz, Deputy Clerk of the Board; Brett Wachsmith, Treasurer. REGULAR MEETING DEPARTMENT HEAD TREASURER Brett Wachsmith, Treasurer presented the Board with two Resolutions for consideration. He stated that one was to cancel taxes assessed upon Personal Property pursuant to RCW 84.56.240 and the other was to cancel taxes assessed upon Mobile Home Taxes pursuant to RCW 84.56.240. RESOLUTION 2016-030 PERSONAL PROPERTY TAXES TREASURER Commissioner Jewell moved to approve Resolution 2016-030, Cancelling Taxes Assessed upon Personal Property pursuant to RCW 84.56.240. Commissioner Berndt seconded. Motion carried 3-0. RESOLUTION 2016-031 MOBILE HOME TAXES TREASURER Commissioner Jewell moved to approve Resolution 2016-031, Cancelling Taxes Assessed upon Mobile Home Taxes pursuant to RCW 84.56.240. Commissioner Berndt seconded. Motion carried 3-0. UPDATE GAMON PROPERTY TREASURER Mr. Wachsmith provided an update on the 2015 Tax Foreclosure Property purchased by Paul Gamon, and an update with regard to where the City of Ellensburg stands with the property. He provided a brief re-cap of the history of the property. The Board directed Mr. Wachsmith to discuss with his office’s Deputy Prosecutor in finding out the proper process to work with the surrounding neighbors about taking on the property at no cost, but would need to pay the taxes and then refund Mr. Gamon for the property. The Board requested an update as things move forward. Meeting adjourned at 10:00 a.m.
