COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES <br />KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON <br />BOCC CONFERENCE ROOM <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />THURSDAY 1:30 PM MARCH 20, 2014 <br />Board members present: Chairman Paul Jewell, Vice Chairman Gary <br />Berndt, and Commissioner Obie O’Brien <br />Others: Judy Pless, Budget and Finance Manager and Solid Waste <br />Director Patti Johnson <br /> <br />REGULAR MEETING FINANCE STUDY SESSION COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />The Board was presented with a report showing the balance in the <br />Board of County Commissioners Document historical funds. It was <br />estimated that by the end of 2014 there would be $18,000. After <br />discussion it was decided to have Julie Kjorsvik, Clerk of the <br />Board, start the grant process for $10,000. <br /> <br />Pless demonstrated an electronic version of the budget amendment <br />process that was written by Andrew Drain, IT department for <br />CAMAS. <br /> <br />Pless presented to the Board a copy of the jail costing scope of <br />work and made recommendations for alterations for the <br />requirements needed for the cost analysis for the Community <br />Development Services permit fees. Pless will work with the <br />Prosecutor to prepare a RFQ. <br /> <br />Pless presented preliminary year end compensated absence report, <br />showing the liability of $2,686,022. <br /> <br />Other business <br /> <br />Solid Waste Director, Patti Johnson discussed the sock project <br />for the compost facility. <br /> <br />The Board discussed REET 2 local option on the sale of property. <br />The real estate excise tax 2 option can only be used for the <br />following and which has to go to the vote of the people. The <br />board said they would discuss it further.
