4/08/2019 MINUTES 2 <br />DISCUSSION LETTER OF SUPPORT COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />Chairman Wright presented the Board with an e-mail from Darcy <br />Batura, Forest Partnerships Manager with (TNC), regarding SB85996 <br />“Funding Fire Prevention & Suppression Activities”. He stated that <br />it would be a tax increase on premiums for property and casualty <br />insurance from 2% to 2.52%. The Board is taking no action at this <br />time. <br /> <br />UPDATE BOCC/ DEPARTMENT HEAD REPORTS COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />Each Commissioner was assigned three different Department Heads to <br />meet with on a weekly basis. This was determined at a Special <br />Meeting with the Board of County Commissioners held on June 18, <br />2009. Each Commissioner reviewed discussions held with their <br />respective departments and exchanged details of those meetings. On <br />January 3, 2011 the Board determined it would be beneficial to <br />alternate Commissioners that will oversee the different Department <br />Head’s on an annual basis. They determined at the end of 2013 they <br />would review the various committees they participate in and provide <br />beneficial updates to the Board as needed during this time as well. <br /> <br />OTHER BUSINESS- <br /> <br />Chairman Wright shared an E-mail from Gayl Curtiss regarding a <br />letter in support of FISH that the County would be sent to Senator <br />Warnick. <br /> <br />Staff was asked to work on setting up a Retreat for the Board. <br /> <br />Meeting adjourned at 10:00 a.m. <br /> <br />KITTITAS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />DEPUTY CLERK OF THE BOARD KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Mandy Buchholz Cory Wright, Chairman
