K=AS COUNTY <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />STUDY SESSION STAFF REPORT <br />STUDY SESSION DATE: May 13, 2019 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Resolution Authorizing the Director <br />of Public Works to Authorize a Notice of Call for Bids for <br />the Big Boulder Creek Bridge Replacement Project. <br />BACKGROUND: The existing bridge at Big Boulder Creek (Fish Lake Road) <br />is load restricted owing to a failed foundation. <br />Replacement of the existing bridge is aproject appearing <br />on Public Worm's 2019 annual construction program. <br />Public Works bas prepared a plans, specification and <br />engineering package for contractor review and bid <br />submittal supporting the replacement of the bridge at Big <br />Boulder Creek. <br />INTERACTION: Public Works <br />RECOMMENDATION: Approve the Resolution Authorizing the Director of Public <br />Works to Authorize a Notice of Call for Bids for the Big <br />Boulder Creek Bridge Replacement Project and direct staff <br />to advertise for three consecutive weeks (05116, 05123 and <br />0513 0/2019) and open bids on June 61, 2019 at 10:30 AM. <br />HANDLING: Return one original to Public Works <br />ATTACHMENTS: Resolution; Notice of Call for Bids <br />LEAD STAFF: Mark R.
