KITTITAS COUNTY <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />STUDY SESSION STAFF REPORT <br />STUDY SESSION DATE: June 10, 2019 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Resolution to Authorize the Chair's <br />Signature on Supplement No. 2 to KPFF Task Order No. <br />16, Big Boulder Creek <br />BACKGROUND: Recently, Public Works (PW) conducted a mandatory <br />prebid site visit to Big Boulder Creek Bridge. Three <br />contractors responded and all declined to submit bids <br />supporting permanent installation of the bridge structure. <br />All desire bidding the placement of a temporary bridge and <br />construction of approach roadways allowing winter and <br />spring traffic. <br />PW is delaying bid call allowing KPFF to rework the plans, <br />specifications and engineering supporting an Addendum to <br />the project contract. To accomplish this task, PW must <br />supplement the Task Order with KPFF. KPFF is requesting <br />$20,000 to provide revised documents supporting the <br />reduced project scope. The new contract price is $228,000. <br />INTERACTION: Public Works <br />RECOMMENDATION: Approve the Resolution to Authorize the Chair's signature <br />on Supplement No. 2 KPFF Task Order No. 16, Big <br />Boulder Creek. <br />HANDLING: Return one original to Public Works <br />ATTACHMENTS: Resolution; Supplement No. 2 to KPFF TO No. 16. <br />LEAD STAFF: Mark R.
