KITTITAS COUNTY <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />STUDY SESSION STAFF REPORT <br />STUDY SESSION DATE: June 10, 2019 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Resolution to Authorize the <br />Interlocal Agreement with the City of Cie Elum, WA <br />Supporting Utility Extension to the new Upper County <br />Shop, 51 No. 5 Mine Road <br />BACKGROUND: Public Works anticipates having building permits <br />supporting bid solicitation for Upper County Shop <br />construction in the near future. Utility extension to the site <br />is required and it is preferred to have the City under <br />contract prior to opening construction bids. Supporting a <br />tight project timeline, Public Works is utilizing an existing <br />interlocal agreement from 1998 with the City. The <br />proposed interlocal swaps the "County" for the "City" <br />allowing the City to receive full cost reimbursement from <br />the County for extending utilities to 51 No. 5 Mine Road. <br />The existing interlocal allows the County to recover cost <br />reimbursement from the City for improvement costs <br />benefitting the City. <br />INTERACTION: Public Works <br />RECOMMENDATION: Approve the Resolution to Authorize the Board's signature <br />on the interlocal agreement with Cie Elum for extending <br />utilities (water and sewer) to 51 No. 5 Mine Road. <br />HANDLING: Return one original to Public Works <br />ATTACHMENTS: Resolution; Interlocal Agreement <br />LEAD STAFF: Mark R.
