BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />COUNTY OF KITTITAS <br />STATE OF WASHINGTON <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2019 - 109 <br />AUTHORIZE THE CHAIR'S SIGNATURE ON THE QUITCLAIM DEED <br />CONVEYING INTERESTS IN THE SCHAAKE LEVEE TO UNITED STATES <br />BUREAU OF RECLAMATION <br />WHEREAS: Kittitas County accepted an easement in September 1952 for the purposes of <br />accessing and maintaining a Yakima River dyke (levee) on lands near/on the <br />Schaake property; and <br />WHEREAS: Kittitas County accepted an additional easement for access and maintaining a <br />dyke (levee) in December 1975; and <br />WHEREAS: The County has maintained the dyke (levee) since acceptance of the easements; <br />and <br />WHEREAS: The United States Bureau of Reclamation desires setting the dyke (levee) back <br />from the Yakima River bank and has prepared engineering and construction <br />documents supporting dyke (levee) relocation; <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners, in the <br />best interest of the public, does hereby quitclaim deed all interest in Schaake dyke (levee) <br />easements to the United States Bureau of Reclamation. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners does authorize the <br />Chair's signature on the Quitclaim deed conveying all interest in the Schaake dyke (levee) and <br />access. <br />DATED this 24th day of June, 2019, at Ellensburg, Washington. <br />`JOp❑$'if Ilhryp.. <br />\�"�� GOMM/SSS'''% <br />SEAL <br />�'Atfesl - <br />rk tl�( Board- Julie Kjorsvik <br />❑ Deputy Clerk of the Board- Mandy Buchholz <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON <br />ABSENT <br />Laura Osiadacz, Commissioner <br />
