KITTITAS COUNTY <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />STUDY SESSION STAFF REPORT <br />STUDY SESSION DATE: August 12, 2019 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Resolution Awarding the <br />Design and Environmental Permitting Contract for <br />the Kachess Lake Road Culvert Replacement <br />Project to Jacobs and Authorize the Director of <br />Public Works to negotiate scope of work and sign <br />the required local agency agreement. <br />BACKGROUND: Public Works produced a Statement of <br />Qualifications that seeks to hire a consultant for <br />Design and Environmental Permitting services for <br />the Kachess Lake Road Replacement Project. The <br />Board of County Commissioners directed Public <br />Works advertise for said services by issuing a <br />Request for Qualifications in the local paper of <br />record. Seven (7) qualified firms responded to the <br />request for qualifications process closing on June <br />27, 2019. A review committee of Public Works <br />evaluated the proposal and reviewers have selected <br />Jacobs to perform design and environmental <br />permitting services for said project. <br />INTERACTION: <br />Public Works <br />RECOMMENDATION: Approve a Resolution to Award the Design and <br />Environmental Permitting Contract to Jacobs for <br />the Kachess Lake Road Culvert Replacement <br />Project and Authorize the Director of Public Works <br />to negotiate scope of work and fee and sign the <br />required local agency agreement upon successful <br />negotiation. <br />HANDLING: Return one (1) original to Public Works <br />ATTACHMENTS: Resolution <br />LEAD STAFF: Mark Cook, Director <br />
