KITTITAS COUNTY <br />PUBLIC WORKS STUDY SESSION MINUTES <br />COMMISSIONERS' AUDITORIUM, 205 WEST 5TH ROOM 109 - ELLENSBURG <br />Regular Meeting <br />MONDAY 1:30 PM AUGUST 12, 2019 <br />Board members present: Chairman Cory Wright; Vice -Chairman Brett <br />Wachsmith <br />Others: Mark Cook and Candie Leader, Public Works and One (1) Member <br />of the Public <br />At 1:30 pm Chairman Cory Wright opened the Public Works Study Session. <br />One (1) item was removed from the Agenda - Out of State Travel and <br />Training Discussion <br />REQUEST TO APPROVE A RESOLUTION AWARDING THE DESIGN AND ENVIRONMENTAL <br />PERMITTING CONTRACT FOR THE KACHESS LAKE ROAD CULVERT REPLACEMENT <br />PROJECT TO JACOBS AND AUTHORIZE THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS TO <br />NEGOTIATE SCOPE OF WORK AND SIGN THE REQUIRED LOCAL AGENCY AGREEMENT <br />Mark Cook presented the resolution for consideration. Mark Cook <br />stated that this project is being funded with STBG funds and staff <br />received seven (7) responses for the project. Mark Cook continued <br />that four (4) reviewers from Public Works scored the submittals with <br />Jacobs being the selected consultant for the project. Commissioner <br />Wright inquired about the timeline on getting the negotiations and <br />scope of work completed with Mark Cook replying about two (2) weeks. <br />Vice -Chairman Brett Wachsmith made a motion to approve Resolution <br />2019-127 Awarding the Design and Environmental Permitting Contract for <br />the Kachess Lake Road Culvert Replacement Project to Jacobs and <br />Authorize the Director of Public Works to negotiate Scope of Work and <br />sign the required Local Agency Agreement. Chairman Cory Wright <br />seconded the motion. Motion passed. <br />REQUEST TO APPROVE A RESOLUTION AWARDING THE DESIGN AND ENVIRONMENTAL <br />PERMITTING CONTRACT FOR THE NANEUM ROAD CULVERT REPLACEMENT PROJECT TO <br />JACOBS AND AUTHORIZE THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS TO NEGOTIATE SCOPE <br />OF WORK AND SIGN THE REQUIRED LOCAL AGENCY AGREEMENT <br />Mark Cook stated that the project for Naneum Road Culvert Replacement <br />Project is a similar funded project as Kachess Lake Road. Mark Cook <br />commented that there is recurrent flooding in this area and staff <br />received eight (8) responses for the project and had the same four (4) <br />staff reviewers. Mark Cook added that Jacobs was also selected for <br />this project.
