KITTITAS COUNTY <br />CDS STUDY SESSION MINUTES <br />COMMISSIONERS' AUDITORIUM, 205 WEST 5TH ROOM 109 - ELLENSBURG <br />Regular Meeting <br />MONDAY 1:30 PM September 9, 2019 <br />Meeting was called to order at 1:31 pm <br />Introduction to the Deputy Fire Marshal <br />Director Carlson introduced Deputy Fire Marshal, Ryan McAllister <br />to the Board of County Commissioners. Deputy McAllister has <br />worked in fire services for over 10 years and will be a great <br />asset to Kittitas County. His primary focus will be Fire & Life <br />Safety inspections, fire investigation and public education. <br />Discussion regarding proposed fire prevention week and <br />proclamation <br />Fire Marshal, Pat Nicholson introduced a proposed proclamation <br />to the board for Fire Prevention Week. Fire Marshal Nicholson <br />organzied a coloring contest with local elementary and middle <br />schools for the month of October. The theme of the contest <br />would align with the Fire Prevention message this year, "Not all <br />heros wear capes, know two exits out." The first place prize <br />will be a ride to school in a fire truck. The second place <br />prize will be lunch with locals fire fighters at their school. <br />Quarterly Fire & Life Safety Inspections Report <br />Fire Marshal Nicholson briefed the board with a quarterly Fire & <br />Life Safety report for the Fire Marshal's Office. Currently, <br />there are 267 active businesses in the unincorporated Kittitas <br />County. Year to date he has performed 205 inspections for these <br />businesses. These inspections have generated over $47,000 in <br />revenue with $12,000 outstanding. <br />OTHER BUSINESS <br />Meeting adjourn at 1:50 p.m. <br />KITTITAS COUNTY <br />2019-09-09 MINUTES 1 <br />
