nhc
engaged In the technical investigations to help support the design of a new and relocated water
crossing; as well as a realigned lick Creek channel, which will be delivered under a separate report.
The project site is located In Kittitas County, WA along the NF of the Teanaway River, approximately 6
miles northeast of Cie Elum (Figure 1). At the project location, lick Creek exits a relatively narrow alluvial
valley into the broader NF Teanaway River Valley. Downstream of the current NF Teanaway Road
crossing location, Lick Creek has been straightened to flow into a narrow corridor between private
homes and the NF Teanaway Road. Numerous private culverts cross the creek along this straightened
reach. Due to historic flooding and sedimentation on private properties, a part of the proposed design to
replace the existing culverts with a bridge includes realigning Lick Creek by excavating a new channel on
public (DNR) land.
Potential impact of Lick Creek relocation on the AFF Teanaway River Morphodynamics
