Cook <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Support the request for trailhead improvements. <br />BRIEFING SUMMARY: <br />Towns to Teanaway is completing a network of recreation trails in the Ronald, <br />Roslyn and Cle Elum area (Exhibit I) <br />The group desires assistance from Public Works improving two key trailhead areas <br />(Ronald and No. 5 Mine Road — Exhibit 2) <br />Improvements entail: Clearing and grubbing, grading, wheel stop installation, <br />trailhead signage and general landscaping (others) <br />BACKGROUND: <br />Public Works maintains an annual budget line item for "paths and trails" (542-5426-000). <br />The proposed 2020 budget has approximately $5,000 in various line items targeting trail <br />improvements. Recently, staff met with a "Trails to Teanaway" representative (Ms. Nicky <br />Pasi) discussing possible Public Works support. <br />DISCUSSION: <br />The requested work is easily supported by Public Works. Providing the Board of County <br />Commissioners expresses project support, staff will conduct site reconnaissance, develop a <br />project budget and advise any additional actions required amending the annual construction <br />program and/or 2020 budget impacts. <br />FISCAL EMPACTS: <br />Project costs are undetermined at this time.
