12/17/2019 MINUTES 2 <br />CHAIRMAN WRIGHT said he would support the Resolution and thanked the <br />Prosecutor’s office for their work. He said he’d been reflecting on <br />how to best preserve the citizen’s rights and how best to defend <br />them. He said although the proposed Resolution was only a position <br />statement, there were Initiatives that come forward with unintended <br />consequences and I-1639 was one of them. <br /> <br />Motion carried 3-0. <br /> PUBLIC HEARING ANNEXATION – FIRE DISTRICT #2 PROSECUTOR <br />At approximately 2:00 p.m. CHAIRMAN WRIGHT opened a Public Hearing <br />to consider Annexing 95.5 Acres into Fire District #2. <br /> NEIL CAULKINS, DEPUTY PROSECUTOR provided a Staff Report stating he <br />had provided information to the Board prior to the Public Hearing. <br /> KVFR FIRE DISTRICT #2 CHIEF JOHN SINCLAIR explained how the <br />landowner requested to be annexed into the Fire District, as they <br />didn’t realize they were outside of it. They established a Fire <br />Protection Contract for one year and then requested annexation. It <br />is contiguous and consistent with their mission, and they have the <br />ability to serve the area. <br /> RESOLUTION 2019-192 ANNEXATION – FIRE DISTRICT #2 PROSECUTOR <br /> COMMISSIONER WACHSMITH moved to approve Resolution No. 2019-192, <br />Annexing Approximately 95.70 Acres of Land into Kittitas County Fire <br />District No. 2, Tax Parcel Numbers 15592 (47.82 acres); 15590 (24.51 <br />acres); and 15591 (23.37 acres) near the Umptanum Road area. COMMISSIONER OSIADACZ seconded.
