01/21/20 MINUTES 1 COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON COMMISSIONERS CONFERENCE ROOM SPECIAL MEETING TUESDAY 3:30 P.M. JANUARY 21, 2020 Board members present: Chairman Brett Wachsmith; Vice-Chair Laura Osiadacz; and Commissioner Cory Wright. Others: Taylor Crouch, Deputy Clerk of the Board I; Lisa Young, Human Resource Director; Tristen Lamb, Public Health Administrator; Jim Goeben, IT Director; Patti Johnson, Solid Waste Director/Project Manager/ Interim Maintenance Director; and one member of the public. SPECIAL MEETING DH WAGE SURVEY HUMAN RESOURCES At 3:30 p.m. Chairman Wachsmith opened a Special Meeting to discuss the Wage Survey for Department Heads. Lisa Young, Human Resource Director explained the wage survey process to the Board and how the data was gathered. The Board was able to ask Mrs. Young questions about the process. The suggested 2020 wage ranges for Department Heads were presented. RESOLUTION 2020-013 ADOPTING WAGE RANGES FOR 2020 HUMAN RESOURCES Commissioner Osiadacz moved to approve Resolution No. 2020-013 In the Matter of Adopting Updated Wage Ranges for BOCC Department Heads as presented. Commissioner Wright seconded. During discussion the Board thanked Mrs. Young for her work on this project. Motion carried 3-0. DISCUSSION/DECISION 2020 CPI/COLA Adjustment HUMAN RESOURCES The Board directed Mrs. Young to further collect data from local employers and to get a budget breakdown from Judy Pless, Budget and Finance Manager to bring back for a follow-up meeting. DISCUSSION/DECISION PUBLIC INFORMATION OFFICER HUMAN RESOURCES The Board reviewed the job description for the new position. The job opening will be posted. The Board thanked Mrs. Young for her work. DISCUSSION/DECISION SPECIAL ADJUSTMENTS HUMAN RESOURCES The Board directed Mrs. Young to further collect data on specific positions to bring back to the next HR Study Session.
