KITTITAS COUNTY <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />STUDY SESSION STAFF REPORT <br />STUDY SESSION DATE: January 27, 2020 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: <br />Request to Approve a Resolution to Authorize the <br />Formulation of the Upper Kittitas County Traffic <br />Committee <br />BACKGROUND: <br />In 2018, the Board of County Commissioners formulated <br />the Upper County Traffic Task Force. In late 2019, the <br />Prosecuting Attorney's Office determined that the Task <br />Force did not meet the County's test for committee status. <br />Recognizing the need and desire to continue the work of <br />the group, the Board has directed <br />staff to formulate the <br />group as a committee of the Board. The District Two <br />Commissioners will chair the committee. Six at large <br />members will be appointed to the committee by the Board <br />Of County Commissioners under <br />a separate action. <br />INTERACTION: <br />Public Works <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Approve the Resolution to Authorize the Formulation of <br />the Upper Kittitas County Traffic Committee. <br />HANDLING: <br />Return one original to Public Works. <br />ATTACHMENTS: <br />Resolution <br />LEAD STAFF: <br />Mark R.
