Cook <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Amend the 2020 annual Public Works construction plan. <br />BRIEFING SUMMARY: <br />• Public Works (PW) recently assigned a County Road Project number to Bullfrog <br />supporting pending road repair. <br />• The annual construction program must now be amended allowing Road Fund <br />expenditure towards the repair. <br />• Preliminary cost estimates for repair: $1.3 to 1.5 million dollars. <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The Board of County Commissioners recently temporarily reduced the speed on Bullfrog <br />Road resulting from widespread pavement failure (Resolution 2020-001). PW is moving <br />quickly to position the repair of Bullfrog Road for summer 2020 construction. <br />DISCUSSION: <br />The Board established the project with Resolution 2020-024. Road project establishment <br />now allows PW to begin expenditures towards the project. Amending the annual <br />construction plan including Bullfrog Road construction is now required by the County <br />Road Administration Board. PW will return on February 18, 2020 requesting the Board <br />schedule a public hearing for annual construction plan amendment. The proposed repair <br />grinds the existing top layer of asphalt and then replaces the layer with new asphalt. <br />FISCAL Il"ACTS: <br />Current repair estimate is approximately $1.6 million.
