Cook <br />RECONLtiIENDATION: <br />Deny the use of Stougard Lane consistent with KITTCOM determination. <br />BRIEFDsTG SUMMARY: <br />O Ms. Kayla Carlson is requesting "Stougard Lane" for a road name in a subdivision <br />road network developed by her father Mike Stougard. <br />a Public Works (PW) road naming and signing standards preclude the use of <br />surnames unless they represent some historical significance to the location of the <br />road ("Kittitas County Department of Public Works Road Naming & Signing <br />Standards, February 2015 — Page 3 Item 8". <br />O Mr. Stougard developed numerous real estate land developments in Kittitas <br />County over several decades. <br />BACKGROUND: <br />Recently, PW denied the requested road name of "Stougard Lane" by Ms. Kayla Carlson. <br />KITTCOM concurs with PW's denial. The requested private road is not associated with <br />any historical connection to Mr. Stougard. <br />DISCUSSION: <br />Mike Stougard was a well-known land developer in Kittitas County. His daughter, Ms. <br />Carlson, desires naming a private road in memory of her father. PW has worked with <br />Ms. Carlson explaining our standards.
