02/26/2020 MINUTES 1 <br /> COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON COMMISSIONERS CONFERENCE ROOM SPECIAL MEETING WEDNESDAY 11:00 A.M. FEBRUARY 26, 2020 <br />Board members present: Chairman Brett Wachsmith, Vice-Chairman <br />Laura Osiadacz, and Commissioner Cory Wright. <br /> Others: Taylor Crouch, Deputy Clerk of the Board I; Jennifer Ellis, <br />Executive Director Kittitas County Housing Authority; and 3 members <br />of the public. <br /> SPECIAL MEETING HOUSING AUTHORITY UPDATE COMMISSIONERS <br />At 11:00 a.m. Chairman Wachsmith opened a Special Meeting to obtain <br />a project update from the Housing Authority. <br /> <br />Jenifer Ellis, Executive Director of the Kittitas County Housing <br />Authority updated the Board on on-going projects. <br /> <br />Pine Street Terrace in Upper County, deal closed in September of <br />2019. They are currently looking at repairs and the long-term needs <br />of the project and are using the same Management agreement that was <br />previously used. <br /> <br />Ms. Ellis gave an update on the Alder Terrace project. Alder Terrace <br />is currently at 47% project completion. Interior work is further <br />along from exterior work. Work will continue through the spring and <br />summer with a ribbon cutting ceremony in the fall. The Housing <br />Authority utilized local vendors and labor for the work on this <br />project. Tenants have been notified of the construction and given <br />reasonable accommodations through the process. Housing Authority <br />worked with other resources available in the community for tenants <br />while construction is taking place. <br /> <br />Ms. Ellis spoke about the property that was purchased on Bender <br />Road. Currently they are working with the City of Ellensburg on a <br />development plan for the property which must be completed by <br />February 2023. There is a low-income housing covenant on the <br />property. There was discussion about FISH potentially being <br />interested in the property. <br /> <br />Future projects for the Housing Authority are in the planning stage. <br />They have been meeting with the Upper County Planning Commission <br />about future projects as well. <br /> <br />Meeting adjourned at 11:17 a.m. <br />
