KITTITAS COUNTY <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />STUDY SESSION STAFF REPORT <br />STUDY SESSION DATE: March 9, 2020 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Resolution to authorize the Director <br />of Airport Operations to Sign the Grant Application with <br />the Federal Aviation Administration Funding Additional <br />Environmental Assessment Work at Bowers Field <br />Committing Airport Fund Reserves as Grant Match <br />BACKGROUND: <br />Kittitas County Airport consultant Century West <br />Engineering has been working to complete the required <br />Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Environmental <br />Assessment (EA) supporting the Airport Capital Facility <br />Plan. Last year, preliminary design identified probable <br />wetland and floodplain impacts requiring additional <br />environmental work. The FAA is offering supplemental <br />funding for the effort. The Board of County <br />Commissioners is required to notice the FAA of grant <br />match funding support as a condition of grant application. <br />INTERACTION: <br />Public Works/Airport Operations, <br />RECONE%IENDATION: <br />Approve the Resolution to Authorize the Director's <br />signature on grant application documents. <br />HANDLING: <br />Return one original to Airport Operations, <br />ATTACHMENTS: <br />Resolution. <br />LEAD STAFF: <br />Mark R.
