KITTITAS COUNTY <br />EC STUDY SESSION MINUTES <br />BOCC CONFERENCE ROOM, 205 WEST 5TH ROOM 108 - ELLENSBURG <br />Regular Meeting <br />WEDNESDAY 10:00 AM March 11, 2020 <br />Board members present: Chair Brett Wachsmith, Vice -Chair Laura Osiadacz <br />Others: Event Center Director Kady Porterfield, Event Center Program Manager Lacie Dawson <br />1. Call to Order: at 10:00 Chair Brett Wachsmith opened the meeting to discuss Event Center <br />Business <br />2. General Event and Rental Updates: Kady is working with the Public Health Department on <br />proper protocol for COVID19. She is also coordinating with Public Health to coordinate messaging to <br />Event Center users in regard to any voluntary or mandatory restrictions. The information will likely be <br />sent out 3/12/20 via email. <br />3. Self Promoted Events Business: No business to discuss at this time. <br />4. Approve Contract for Joe Nichols Concert on July 4, 2020: Commissioner Laura Osiadacz <br />made a motion to approve and sign the Joe Nichols contract. Chair Brett Wachsmith seconded. No <br />discussion. Motion passed 2-0. Chair Brett Wachsmith signed the contract. <br />5. Sponsor Business: No business at this time. <br />6. Special Projects: Kady is working with other county staff and the Rodeo Board on fixing the <br />Buckaroo Stands. Per Kady, the current recommendation is to remove drywall and insulation from all <br />exterior walls and spray foam. Kady stated she will research rebate opportunities from the City of <br />Ellensburg for the spray foam. Kady stated that she may be able to transfer some funds from the <br />LED lighting project to help cover costs. Kady is currently working with Patti Johnson and Mike Flory <br />to get the specs to write a project proposal and looking for building plans when the booth in the <br />Buckaroo Stands was originally built. <br />7. Request for Approval of Purchase for Panel System: Kady asked for informal bids for the stock <br />panels behind the Gold Buckle. Venture Equine came in with the lowest bid at $24,950.70. Per Kady <br />they did the panels for the Pendleton Rodeo also. Commissioner Laura Osiadacz moved to approve <br />the panel system purchase from Venture Equine, Chair Brett Wachsmith seconded. No discussion. <br />Motion passed 2-0. <br />8. Discussion of Proposed Railroad at Fairgrounds: The discussion was tabled. <br />9. Other business: No other business to discuss. <br />10.
