Existing commercial operations such as the ski resorts will use the additional water capacity to add
hours to their ski -related operating time in the form of night skiing, add days to their operating season
by increasing their snow -making operations, and add year-round operations to their facilities adding
diversity and the need for more FTEs.
Kittitas County has approved developments that are independent of the limited capacity of the Utility
District's domestic water and wastewater systems. Phase I constructs an innovative MBR treatment
system which can produce effluent of high quality that can be discharged to Coal Creek. Coal Creek
benefits from augmented creek flow enhancing the aquatic systems, including flora and fauna. Phase
1 benefits the Utility District and Kittitas County by increasing the water rights obtained through the
direct discharge to Coal Creek. The needed water and wastewater capacities allow the planned
developments to move forward in a sustainable manner. The new construction sparks short-term
construction jobs. The average home in Snoqualmie Pass requires three seasons to complete.
Approximately 1,000 new ERUs will be available for connections to development immediately.
The commercial vs. residential mix of ERU consumption has historically been about 7 commercial
connections for every 100 residents. The usual support businesses of services for residential will be
supplemented with new business types to cater to year-round outdoor activities.
List of links to references in this application:
Snoqualmie Pass Utility District Home page: http://snonass.orgI
2013 Snoqualmie Pass Utility District Water System Plan, May 2013: hit ://sno ass.or w -
content/uploads/2018/05/2013-Water--Co=rehensive-Plan.odf
Kittitas County Comprehensive Plan, December 2016:
hLtps://www.co. kifitas.wa.us/uploads/documents/cds/comp-
plan/2016/2016%201206%20Comlp%o20Plan%20per%24Kittitas%2QCo%200.rd%202016-023.pdf
Snoqualmie Pass Sub -Area Comprehensive Plan — Master Plan
https://www.co.kittitas.wa.us/cds/snppac/Snogualmie%20Subarea%20PI;an Current.pdf
The Summit at Snoqualmie Master Development Plan, November 200$:
his://suininitatsnoqualmie.com/developnient-plan
Submit the original application to:
Kittitas County Department of Public Works
411 N.
