Public Works: <br /> <br />1) Required traffic control techniques must be <br />implemented for the event which may include large <br />orange “bikes on the roadway” signs placed along the <br />route and at intersections. The safety of both the event <br />participates, and the traveling public would benefit <br />from these traffic control strategies being implemented <br />as the risk of bicycle and motorized vehicle conflicts <br />would be reduced. <br />2) Local advertisement in the Daily <br />Record/Radio/physical posting two weeks in advance <br />to inform the traveling public of the upcoming event in <br />order to give them the choice to plan a different route <br />during this time period. <br /> <br />County Auditor: Jake Maedke needs to report/remit <br />2020 Admissions Tax at the end of his event. Mr. <br />Maedke is current for reporting and remitting. <br /> <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: Approve the Event Application to hold the Gran Fondo <br />Ellensburg (88 mile bicycle ride), contingent upon Mr. <br />Maedke (applicant), complying with the Public Works & <br />Sheriff recommendations. Approve a request to waive the <br />Penal Bond-Bond of Indemnity and continue to comply <br />with the reporting and remitting requirements for the <br />County Admissions Tax for 2020. <br /> <br />HANDLING: BoCC staff to send letter to the applicant of the Board’s <br />decision and notify Kittcom. <br /> <br />ATTACHMENTS: Special Event Application w/additional information <br /> Memos from County Departments with recommendations <br /> Treasurer’s Receipt for Event Permit Fee. <br /> <br />LEAD STAFF: Mandy Buchholz, Deputy Clerk of the Board II <br />
