Response 1: This project is designed to increase tourism, attendance, and historical awareness
ProjecVEvent by continuing to apply new and exciting promotions through social media marketing
Description * and website development regarding Kittitas County history. These funds will be
used wisely to continue a successful marketing and advertising campaign that was
unveiled in 2018 geared toward tourism and the primary mission of our Museum
through its events and activities.
As a result of previous support through the Lodging Tax Grant, we have been able
to fulfill expectations, increase attendance, and continue community outreach
through advertising and in-house activities. We introduced marketing in the
Seattle -Tacoma and Portland, Oregon, areas in 2018, reaching new audiences for
our events and activities. In 2019, we increased our demographics and frequency
in advertising, which saw a direct result reflected in our attendance and in our
guest log. In 2020, we would like to expand the frequency and reach of our
campaign to reach new audiences in the Greater Puget Sound area, which would
bring day-trippers and overnight visitors into Kittitas County.
Some of the funds will be utilized to inform individuals about our exhibits, including
themes on women's history, historical anniversaries, geological events, and more.
Many of these exhibits should directly draw individuals interested in historical topics
like Mt. St. Helens, the Suffrage Movement, and more. The exhibit schedule and
general programming connect to the new programming, as these are activities that
the Museum always has happening. These events also tie to activities happening in
the area, other area museums, historic sites, events, which all add experience and
exploration of the community to a visit, and are rotated monthly.
Funds will also be used to advertise our walking tours, lecture series, and special
events, along with website updates for these events.
2500 character limit
List of Intended Use of Funds*
$10869.57 Online Advertising
$1,630.43 Genesis Management Fee
$2,500.00 Website Updates
21 Projections of Increased Tourism
Please provide the following estimates of how any money received will result in increases in the number of people
traveling for business or pleasure on a trip:
1. Away from their place of residence or business and staying overnight in paid accommodations;
2. To a place fifty miles or more away from their place of residence or business for the day or staying overnight;
3. or from another country or state outside of their place of residence or business.
You must provide the evidence utilized in determining your projections.
