 A Fire Marshal Special Event Application is required & the <br />Coordinator must call 509-962-7000 to request an <br />inspection at least 24 hours prior to the event, must receive <br />a passing inspection which includes inspection of vendors. <br />EMS staff will utilize the 911 system to report emergencies <br />as appropriate; the applicant must maintain clear <br />emergency vehicle access throughout the campus at all <br />times; ensure power generators exhaust away from <br />assembly or sleeping areas. <br /> <br />The applicant is requesting a waiver to the following: <br /> <br />Kittitas County Code Chapter 5.20.100 – Penal Bond – <br />Bond of Indemnity since the event is located at Silver <br />Ridge Ranch and the waiver was granted for their 2014, <br />2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 & 2019 event with no damage to <br />any property, they feel 2020 will be no different. <br /> <br />Kittitas County Code Chapter 5.20.160 – Closing Hours <br />since their event is scheduled to begin at 6:00 a.m. and go <br />until 1:00 a.m. According to the County Code, events shall <br />not be open to the public before the hour of 7:00 a.m. and <br />shall remain open to the public until such time as approved <br />by the Board of County Commissioners in the application <br />process. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: Approve the Event Application from ABATE of <br />Washington to hold the 2020 Spring Opener contingent <br />upon them complying with the Fire Marshal and Public <br />Works contingency’s as well as working with KCSO to <br />obtain licensed security at the event and staying current <br />with their admission tax reporting and taxes paid, including <br />that they collect and report for 2020; and approve granting <br />a waiver of Kittitas County Code 5.20.100 (Penal Bond- <br />Bond of Indemnity) and Kittitas County Code Chapter <br />5.20.160 (Closing Hours-request for a waiver until 1:00 <br />a.m. for 3 nights Thursday -Saturday). <br /> <br />HANDLING: Commissioners Staff to notify the applicant and County <br />Departments of the Board’s final action. <br /> <br />ATTACHMENTS: ABATE of Washington Application Materials <br /> Correspondence from County departments <br /> Misc., supporting documents <br /> <br />
