BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />COUNTY OF KITTITAS <br />STATE OF WASHING TON <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2020 - <br />An Ordinance Amending Ordinance 2019-012 <br />WHEREAS, fire, life, and safety concerns related to impeding snow plowing efforts due <br />to improper parking and the resulting impingement of emergency vehicle access have been <br />expressed by the Snoqualmie Pass Utility District, Kittitas County Public Works, and members <br />of the public at a public hearing on December 3, 2019; and <br />WHEREAS, implementation and practicality concerns over the resulting Ordinance <br />2019-012 have been expressed by the Kittitas County Sherriff s office, and <br />WHEREAS, Public Works desires adding an additional no parking zone along East <br />Hyak Drive from Mile Post (0.438 to MP 0.569) protecting the area in front of the County <br />Maintenance Facility shared with Snoqualmie Public Utility District; and <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: KCC 1.0.07.060 is amended to read as <br />follows: <br />"Any vehicle parking in violation of this chapter in any no parking area or no parking zone <br />designated in this chapter may be towed and impounded at the owner's expense as provided in <br />Ch 46.55 RCW. Vehicles parked in the locations specified in KCC 10.07.010(13) and in <br />violation of RCW 46.61.560 are subject to a $200 fine payable and appealable as provided in Ch. <br />46.63 RCW. Said fines and impoundment shall be effective upon installation of appropriate <br />signs." <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: KCC 10.06.050 is amended <br />to read as follows: <br />"Any vehicle parking in any county parking area in violation of this chapter shall be towed and <br />impounded at the owner's expense as provided in Ch. 46.55 RCW. Vehicles parked in violation <br />of this code section are subject to a $200 fine payable and appealable as provided in Ch. 46.63 <br />RCW. Said fines and impoundment shall be effective upon installation of appropriate signs." <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: KCC 10.07.010 is amended to extend <br />the "No Parking" limits along East Hyak Drive from MP 0.438 to MP 0.569. <br />Page 1 <br />Ordinance Amending Parking Regulations <br />
