Response 1:Combination of fingerstyle guitar workshop taught by the world's foremost acoustic Project/Event fingerstyle guitar scholar,John Stropes (who runs the only college degree program Description*in the world in the genre at Univ.of Wisconsin-Milwaukee),and world-class fingerstyle guitarist in concert.Motif is same as what we've done this year with "The Music of Leo Kottke"workshop and "An Evening with Leo Kottke"concert. Also referenced further in the application,we will have a targeted area of the Puget Sound region but because of the masters in fingerstyle guitar there will be attendees from areas throughout the country and even the world that will travel specifically for this event. The results of our year-old organization are both promising and encouraging. LMMO is working with musicians and instructors that are at the top of their fields. We have brought the world's foremost acoustic guitar scholar with his annual Music of Leo Kottke workshop to Ellensburg,syncing it for the first time ever with a concert by Leo Kottke.That concert sold out in advance,and we had requests for holding it in a bigger venue (than the 600 seat Dr.Wayne S.Hertz Symphony Hall). Internationally-recognized and Emmy award winning artist,Billy McLaughlin,has performed multiple times in Ellensburg.Both of these world class performers coming to our city have gained the attention of other artists,and one of these, Tony McManus,will be coming to EIIensburg in December,2019.(Tony is one of the top Celtic guitarists in the world.)The circle of contacts and possibilities is only expanding,with multiple implications for EIIensburg in years to come.We are considering bringing Leo Kottke here again next year,possibly even for two nights in a row.Mandy Harvey's agent has Ellensburg held for early April,2020.French guitar giant,Pierre Bensusan,likewise has EIIensburg dates reserved in May.John Stropes is considering holding another workshop here next year.In the longer- term,we plan to hold the first ever Central Washington Guitar Festival in 3 to 5 years,which would include competition prizes for up and coming musicians that will exceed any ever offered in similar competitions in the U.S We have alot that we want to do and it will only impact the local businesses and the tourism services. 2500 character lirrit List of Intended Use of Funds* Promotions Logistical Costs (venue,sound projection equipt) Instructor's Fee (multi instructors)Entertainers Transportation,Food,Lodging and Travel Material Costs (sheet music,programs print) 2|Projections of Increased Tourism Please provide the following estimates of how any money received will result in increases in the number of people traveling for business or pleasure on a trip: 1.Away from their place of residence or business and staying overnight in paid accommodations; 2.To a place fifty miles or more away from their place of residence or business for the day or staying overnight; 3.or from another country or state outside of their place of residence or business.
