The majority of attendees come from Western Washington and the
greater Northwest.
2500 character lirrit
3. or from another country or state outside of their place of residence or business.
In the 50 years of Conference, there have been consistent annual attendees from
at least Oregon, Idaho, Colorado, Canada, and Iceland to name a few. This
conference is well known and is frequently regarded as "the best conference in the
Western United States" and is a rare opportunity for volunteers within the U.S. and
draws international attendees as well.
2500 character lirrit
This information will be clarified and formally produced in survey results starting in
2019, however it is based on my personal observations and the observations of
event organizers and host agencies for at least the last 10 years of operation.
2500 character lirrit
Application Questions: Part 2 -----------------~~
31 Measuring Results
What tools will you use to measure your event's impact on tourism? Please be specific and provide examples. Include the
following information:
A Is your project/event year-round or is it seasonal or date-specific? Go to definitions of terms.
B. What strategies will you employ to assure you are attracting tourists from at least 50 miles away?
C. Rease be specific and provide exarrples .
The primary measurement for the tourism impact from this annual conference will
be attendance and the tracking of overnight stays at local hotels, motels and
campgrounds.
We will develop survey questions within the post attendee survey to ask information
on impact, such as what type of activities they did before or after the conference, if
they did or plan to return for recreation or for personal reasons, and similar
questions.
2500 character lirrit
A Is your project/event year-round or is it seasonal or date-specific?
r Year Round r Seasonal r-Date Specific
Your selection here should be supported by the dates you provided above, in the A-oject or EYent lnforrration section.
B. Wiat strategies will you errploy to assure you are attracting tourists from at least 50 mies away?
The conference is designed and intended for this currently, however there is an
expected jump in attendance from hosting the event in a predictable location
annually, and there should be a natural increase an attendance as we develop this
new format of hosting.
2500 character lirrit
