Attachment A
(Continued answers to questions)
Question 3 cont.: Over the past biennium we have seen continued efforts both in the State and Federal
funding for economic development. At the Federal level, the SBDC office only has one office to serve
three counties. This year we continued to strensthen our relationship with the Yakima County Economic
Development Association to eliminate areas of overlap on regional Issues that wlll strengthen businesses
throughout Kittitas County. By creating more efficiencies and looking regionally where It make sense,
we are able to provide a greater level of service to our business community without causing them any
undue burden. Additionally, we have revitalized our relationship with local agencies that will provide
support to each other for the purpose of recruitment to the area. Our partnership with Centerfuse,
formerly EBDA, we wlll have additional staff t~ support in the efforts of attracting businesses to Central
Washington. Through that relationship, Foreign Trade Zone partner Port of Moses Lake has now been
revived and being put to use to help assist manufacturing companies in our County to defer rising costs
of tariffs that become a hardship for companies in Kittitas County.
