BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />COUNTY OF KITTITAS <br />STATE OF WASHINGTON <br />RESOLUTIO~ <br />NO. 2019-/6 J <br />A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE AN AMENDMENT TO THE KITTITAS COUNTY <br />TRAVEL POLICY ESTABLISHING A COUNTY PROVIDED REFRESHMENT <br />AND/OR MEALS POLICY AND PROCEDURE <br />WHEREAS, the Kittitas County Board of County Commissioners , wishes to establish a <br />general policy and procedure regarding the occasional purchase of refreshments <br />and/or meals for County employees at County meetings at public expense; and <br />WHEREAS, the May 14, 1987 Attorney General 's Opinion states that for public entities to <br />"pay for food and drink with public money is very much the exception rather <br />than the rule"; and <br />WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners has deemed the purchase of refreshments <br />and/or meals for County employees at public expense to be appropriate in <br />certain rare circumstances to keep participants refreshed and productive; <br />WHEREAS, a Resolution is required to establish a policy authorizing purchase of <br />refreshments and/or meals for County employees at public expense; <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Kittitas County Board of Commissioners <br />hereby authorizes an amendment to the Kittitas County Travel Policy <br />establishing a County provided refreshment and/or meals policy and procedure <br />that is attached hereto and hereby incorporated by reference. <br />DATED this I Si-'h day of CQ.etvbe , 2019 , at Ellensburg, Washington. <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />KITTITA CQUNTY, WASHING TON
