Vantage Bay Property Development

Assumptions:
Wastewater ADF at build-out is approximately 75,000 gpd
Construction will occur over several years
Average wastewater characteristics are BOD=300 mg/L & TSS=270 mg/L
Effluent quality should reduce BOD & TSS to <5 mg/L and should target low TN & TP

Parameter Influent
Phase 1
Influent
Phase 2
Influent
Phase 3 Effluent
Flow (GPD) 25,000 50,000 75,000 ---
BOD (mg/L) 300 300 300 < 5
TSS (mg/L) 270 270 270 < 5
TKN (mg/L) 70 70 70 ---
NH3-N (mg/L) 47 47 47 < 1
TN (mg/L) --- --- --- < 10
TP (mg/L) 8 8 8 < 1
Minimum Water
Temperature (Degrees F) 50 50 50 50

Suggestions:

1. Construct the wastewater treatment system in three (3) phases of 25,000 gpd per phase.
2. Base the design around the use of Membrane Bio-reactor (MBR) technology in order to:
a. Minimize the physical footprint of the plant
b. Simplify the operation of the plant by eliminating the potentially problematic gravity
settling process in conventional activated sludge systems
c. Ensure 24/7 achievement of effluent with better than 5/5 quality levels, suitable for
non-potable reuse or discharge.
3. Construct the sewerage, lift stations and concrete process tankage for the full 75,000 gpd ADF
but only install the MBR systems in 25,000 gpd phases as demand grows.

Item Units Phase 1 Phase 2 Phase 3
Total EQ Tank (8 hours) Gallons 8,350 16,700 25,050
Total Pre-Anoxic Zone Volume Gallons 4,700 9,400 14,100
Total Aerobic Zone Volume Gallons 9,000 18,000 27,000
Total Post-Anoxic Zone Volume Gallons 3,200 6,400 9,600
Total Membrane Tank Volume Gallons 4,800 9,600 14,400

Index #6
