KITTITAS COUNTY <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />AGENDA DATE: <br />ACTION REQUESTED: <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br />September 3, 2019 <br />Request to Approve a Resolution to Adopt the "2019 <br />Kittitas County Hazard Mitigation Plan" as Approved by <br />the Federal Emergency Management Agency <br />BACKGROUND: <br />For the past several years, Public Works has been working <br />to update the 2012 Hazard Mitigation Plan for the County. <br />Planning partners are dependent on plan adoption before <br />pursuing hazard mitigation grant opportunities. Plan <br />adoption is also required to maintain participation in the <br />Community Rating System (CRS). The program allows <br />floodplain insurance premium reductions for County <br />residents. <br />INTERACTION: <br />Public Works <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Approve the Resolution to Adopt the "2019 Kittitas County <br />Hazard Mitigation Plan" <br />HANDLING: <br />Return one original to Public Works <br />ATTACHMENTS: <br />Resolution; 2019 Kittitas County Hazard Mitigation Plan <br />LEAD STAFF: <br />Mark R.
